I guess it might be helpful to post my answer to the following question from GinTX in the thread "reply, set, hike" also here.
GinTX was asking there the following:
How do we use this quote thing proberly....To quote the entire post of GinTX I click on the "quote" icon/bottom on the right on top of GinTX's post. The system will quote the entire post. After I did that GinTX's original post looked in my post like this:
Again... How do we use "quote" thing properly? I've been messing that up.
The system did everything perfectly itself. I didn't have to take care of anything.
But in case you like only to
quote part of a posting I will start with copying and pasting this part which I like to quote and then continue to do things the following way:
In the beginning of a quote
* I choose this bracket here [
* and then I continue directly to write in "quote".
* After that I close immediately with this bracket here ].
* I paste the copied part in.
In the ending a quote
* I start again with this bracket here [
* and afterwards I let follow immediatly this backslash here /
* write in directly "quote"
* and close the bracket immediately again with ] - at the end it looks alike [/quote]
I will now quote part of the upper post as example.
Here you go how it looks if I have done everything properly:
And then I hit the "Preview" bottom next to "Post Reply" and I'm checking if everything turned out like I intended.
If not I'll check if I didn't miss any bracket or too much spaces in and so started and ended every quote proberly.
For those who like to go one step further:
By quoting the first part of a post or if you like to include the name of the poster at the beginning of the quote, then I have to pay attention that I start my quoting not only like this "
